is a lifestyle brand focused on home decor.
Based in the south of Portugal, SÖNMUN was founded in 2022 by the two creative minds and wild at hearts, Marcos Alfares and Emilie Cavaco.
Former visual merchandisers and after years of experience working on the retail and textile business, the couple built a particular passion for colors and textures and finally moved forward on the production of their own and unique designed pieces.
Carefully handmade between the sun and the sea of Algarve, SÖNMUN is a craftwork that uses mainly the tufting technique as its signature.
SÖNMUN & CRAFTWORK
Inspired by home decor, SÖNMUN is a brand where all the art pieces and rugs are unique and carefully handmade in the south of Portugal. All the art pieces are made with a tufting gun and we use acrylic yarn, a mix of wool and nylon on a high quality polyester tufting cloth.
WOOL & MAINTENANCE
Tufted wool rugs release some fibers during the first months. Don't panic! These fibers are the excess of yarn and it will disapear over time.
Remove the excess of fibers with your hand or use a lint roller or a vacuum cleaner. For the cleaning, don't apply any products and in case of stain use a damp cloth.
Do Not Machine Wash!
